Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how The MULE Group LLC (“Surrender,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Surrender mobile application and website (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Surrender is a faith-based recovery and wellness application. We collect the following categories of information:

  • •Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as an authentication credential) when you create an account.
  • •Profile & recovery information: sobriety start dates, recovery path preferences, and role designations (e.g., regular user, sponsor, peer counselor) you provide.
  • •Wellness & journal content: journal entries, mood logs, craving logs, therapy exercise responses, goals, and relapse-prevention plans you create.
  • •Community content: posts, replies, prayers, and group interactions you choose to share within community features.
  • •Payment information: subscription transactions are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we retain billing records and Stripe transaction identifiers.
  • •Meeting & scheduling data: meeting titles, host/participant emails, scheduled times, and attendance records for recovery meetings and video sessions.
  • •Leadership verification documents: credentials or reference materials you submit for sponsor or peer-counselor verification, if applicable.
  • •Device & usage data: limited technical information (such as authentication credentials and preferences stored on your device) needed to operate the Service. We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, installation IDs, or persistent tracking identifiers, and the app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs.

2. Device & Sensitive Data

Surrender handles sensitive personal data related to mental health, addiction recovery, and spiritual life. We treat this data with heightened care:

  • •Wellness and journal content is private to your account by default and is protected by row-level access controls.
  • •We do not sell your personal or wellness data to third parties.
  • •Leadership verification documents are accessible only to you and authorized administrators for verification purposes.
  • •Community content you post is visible to other members of the community or group you post it to, in accordance with the audience you select.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • •Create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions.
  • •Deliver daily devotions, journaling tools, mood tracking, and wellness exercises.
  • •Process subscription payments and manage your membership and trial periods.
  • •Facilitate community groups, meetings, and sponsor/peer-counselor relationships.
  • •Verify sponsor and peer-counselor credentials when you request a leadership role.
  • •Send service notifications, devotion reminders, meeting reminders, and support communications.
  • •Maintain safety, moderate community content, and enforce community guidelines.
  • •Improve, debug, and secure the Service and develop new features.

4. Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your data. We share information only as necessary to operate the Service:

  • •Stripe — processes subscription payments securely. Card data is handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
  • •Email & delivery providers — to send devotion reminders, meeting notifications, invitations, and support emails.
  • •Community members — content you voluntarily post to a group or community board is visible to its members.
  • •Service providers — Base44, our hosting, authentication, and database platform, and other infrastructure providers who help us run the Service under appropriate data-protection terms.
  • •QR code generator — if you generate a QR code for a public devotion share link, the share link (and nothing from your account) is transmitted to a third-party image service to render the QR code.

We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.

5. Data Security & Retention

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including access controls, encrypted authentication credentials, and row-level database restrictions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data through the in-app account deletion request feature. Certain records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business, legal, or safety purposes.

6. Your Rights & Choices

You have control over your information and may:

  • •Access, update, or correct your profile and account information in Settings.
  • •Export or delete your journal entries, mood logs, and wellness content.
  • •Submit an account deletion request to remove your data from the Service.
  • •Adjust notification preferences for reminders and community activity.
  • •Withdraw from community groups and stop sharing community content at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. International Users

Surrender is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by other appropriate means.
